Here is some footage from one of the first events that we filmed in 360° video. This was still in the early days of us experimenting with 360° video.
We have developed our own 360° camera rig system which used 6 GoPro’s to film the event. The Johannesburg Motor Show 2013 was held at the Nasrec Exhibition Center in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Johannesburg Motor Show was one of the first events we shot in 360° Photographs and one of our first virtual tours of an internationally recognized event. (We shot the first 360° Virtual Tour of the Johannesburg Motor Show in 2004 already.) Below is a 360° video of the Mercedes-Benz stand at the Johannesburg Motor Show in 2013. At the time of filming this event, we were still experimenting with 360° Virtual Reality video and were possibly the first company in South Africa to develop a 360° Camera Rig system. Since the 2013 Johannesburg Motor Show, we have come a long way to increase the quality of our 360° video productions.
The Car Magazine Stand at the Johannesburg Motor Show
We also filmed the Car Magazine stand at the Johannesburg International Motor Show. The Car Magazine is one of the most popular automotive magazines in South Africa. In the 360° video below, you can see what their stand looked like and get a short tour of their exhibition.
Quick Walk of the Johannesburg Motor Show in 360° Video
In the 360° video below, we tested walking with our 360° video rig. The video is not the most stabilized, but at least it captured the event in history, and one can walk through the show feeling immersed and part of history!
The Volkswagen Stand in 360° Video
In the 360° video below, you can have a walk around of the Volkswagen stand at the Johannesburg Motor Show in 2013. You can view 360 degrees up, down, left, or right when viewing the Virtual Tour on a modern browser, or you can pop on a Virtual Reality Headset or Google Cardboard viewer and experience the motor show as if you were at the show.
